Ms. Foundation for Women

Thanks to a networking connection - a former colleague in DC through whom I met the person who has become VP-Communications for the Ms. Foundation for Women - I've been writing, editing and producing the Foundation's newsletter since last fall.

Working on this newsletter is a great professional honor.

Voices newsletter, Fall 2004 issue

At the indirect request of co-founder Gloria Steinem, I was brought in to brighten up both content and graphics. I revamped the “look of the book” by switching to a bright-white paper and choosing red and black inks to match the most-often-used version of the logo. A newsy, non-jargony “voice” also enhances the overall impact and value of the newsletter. The result is a bright, strong, attention-getting and highly readable publication that the client loves.

The real coup for this issue was pulling together a special edition of election-education material in about two weeks flat, in time for a first-class mailing to reach Ms. Foundation supporters so they could participate in Get Out The Vote efforts for the 2004 presidential election.
